# Initiation Failed – Meaning & Resolution

When your terminal shows “Initiation failed”, it means one of the acquirers hasn’t activated the terminal yet. This is not an error on your side.

***

### What Does It Mean?

* The terminal setup was completed, but the acquirer has not finalized activation.
* This is common shortly after setup and usually resolves on its own.

***

### Solution Steps

1. Wait 1–2 business days.

Most activations are completed within this time.
2. Check the terminal again.
   * Go to Space → Terminals.
   * Select the terminal in question.
   * Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the Acquirers section.
   * Click the Refresh button next to it to update the activation status.
3. Still seeing the message?
   * Contact your acquirer directly.\
-Provide the terminal’s TID (Terminal ID).\
-Ask them to activate it manually.

***

### After Activation

* Once the acquirer activates it, the terminal will work as expected.
* The “Initiation failed” message will no longer appear.
