# Direct Acquiring

Complete this checklist before taking your wallee account to live.

### Introduction

When talking about direct acquiring we refer to external processors or full payment service providers (PSPs) that require separate integrations, even if you manage them through wallee. You can make direct acquiring contracts with a variety of PSPs. In this case they replace or supplement wallee's default acquiring channels. Using direct acquiring capabilities may require setting up external contracts, credentials and API credentials in wallee's backend.

Examples of external processors and PSPs include Nexi (Concardis), Worldline, Datatrans, Payrexx and Adyen. The full, filterable list is available in the [processor reference](https://{inject-platform-url}/en-us/doc/api/processor/list).

**Direct acquiring or wallee payments?** With [wallee payments](/documentation/activate-your-account.md) you accept the essential payment methods through a single contract with us, including a consolidated settlement. Direct acquiring means you hold the acquiring contract yourself and manage it through wallee. Both can be combined — see [Payment set-ups in wallee](/documentation/payments/overview/configuration.md) for the comparison.

### How to set-up a direct acquiring contract?

1. **Conclude the contract with the acquirer or PSP.** The process differs from provider to provider, and different requirements apply — such as the merchant's location or the type of business. Check directly with the respective acquirer what they require. See also [Payment Contracts](/documentation/payments/integrations/payment-contracts.md).
2. **Open the provider-specific guide.** In the [processor reference](https://{inject-platform-url}/en-us/doc/api/processor/list), select your processor and open its documentation — it walks you step by step through what that provider needs.
3. **Create the processor configuration** in your space under **Settings > Processors** and enter the credentials you received from the provider. See [Processors](/documentation/payments/overview/processors-payment-methods-and-connectors/processors.md).
4. **Configure the connectors** for the payment methods you want to offer through this processor. See [Connector Configuration](/documentation/payments/overview/processors-payment-methods-and-connectors/connectors.md).
5. **Test, then go live.** Use test mode to verify the setup end to end, then switch the processor configuration to live mode. When you click **Go-Live**, you will see exactly what is still required.

If required, we can carry out the pre-configuration for you for a small one-time fee. Please contact our [support team](https://wallee.com/ueber-wallee/support).

### Settlement and reconciliation

With direct acquiring, the acquirer pays you directly, so the money does not flow through wallee. Your settlements therefore come from your acquirer rather than from us.

* [Supported Acquirers](/documentation/activate-your-account/reconciliation-accounting/supported-acquirers.md) — the acquirers whose settlement files we can process.
* [Reconciliation for Third Party Acquirers](/documentation/activate-your-account/reconciliation-accounting/reconciliation-for-third-party-acquirers.md) — how to reconcile transactions that were settled by an external acquirer.
