# Connector Configuration

A Connector links a Payment Method (e.g. Visa, TWINT) with a Processor (e.g. wallee/SnapSwap). This is what enables wallee to actually process the transaction.

### Introduction

This page is intended for merchants who want to add or configure additional connectors after a processor has already been set up. If you are setting up a new processor, follow the [Processors guide](/documentation/payments/overview/processors-payment-methods-and-connectors/processors.md) first.

{% hint style="info" %}
When creating a processor, you can already define the associated payment methods and connectors. Use this guide only if you need to add more connectors or adjust existing ones.
{% endhint %}

### Prerequisites

* Space admin access to your space
* At least one processor already set up
* The desired payment method available and enabled

### Add or configure a connector

To add a new connector or modify an existing one:

1. Navigate to your space settings.
2. Click **Payment**, then **Connectors**.
3. Click **Configure connector**.
4. Choose:
   * the **processor** you want to connect to
   * the **payment method** (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, TWINT)
5. Configure the following options:
   * **Priority** — if multiple connectors exist for the same payment method, lower values are tried first.
   * **Sales channel** — choose between e-commerce or physical terminal.
   * **Capture mode** — **Deferred**: the capture is triggered manually or via webhook. **Immediate**: the capture happens instantly after authorization.
   * **Transaction auto completion timeout** — define when a transaction should automatically move to completion if it is not completed manually.
   * **3-D Secure settings** — define whether 3-D Secure is required or optional for this connector.
   * **Email settings** — configure which customer notifications {inject-brand-name} sends, such as payment receipts or failure notices. Also choose email types and templates that are sent from this connector.
6. Click **Save**.

Once saved, this connector is available in your checkout flow for the specified payment method and processor.

### Working with several connectors

You can configure more than one connector for the same payment method — for example to route transactions to different processors or to different accounts of the same processor. Two settings control which one is used:

* **Conditions** limit when a connector applies, based on transaction properties such as the amount or the customer's country.
* **Priority** decides the order in which the eligible connectors are tried, starting with the lowest value.

This also gives you a fallback: if the connector with the highest priority cannot process a transaction, the next eligible one is used.

{% hint style="info" %}
Capture mode is what decides whether a transaction stops in the `Authorized` state and waits for you, or moves on to `Completed` immediately. See [Transaction States](/documentation/payments/overview/transaction-states.md) for what each state means.
