# FAQ

### Can I use both partner models at the same time?

Yes. A partner can run join account (Affiliate) and join platform (ISV) in parallel. The join dashboard shows all merchants across both models.

### Who is responsible for KYC, AML?

wallee. Even if you submit merchant data via API or run a white-label onboarding, wallee remains the regulated entity and performs all compliance checks. The merchant always confirms the application themselves via the hosted submission flow.

### What is the difference between a manual and a self-service onboarding?

A **manual onboarding** is initiated for one specific merchant — from your join dashboard or via API — and sends that merchant a personal invitation email. A **self-service onboarding** uses a reusable link that you publish (website, social media, in-app); any merchant who clicks it starts a signup attributed to you.

### Can I link a merchant that already has a wallee account?

Yes. Existing regular accounts can be linked to an affiliate partnership and existing sub-accounts to an ISV partnership — via the partnerships page in the portal or via POST /api/v2.0/join-program/partnerships/create-simple.

### What features do ISV sub-accounts have?

A merchant sub-account has the same features as your parent account. Sub-accounts have no own subscription — billing is consolidated on your partner account.

### Who bills my merchants?

* **join account (Affiliate):** wallee bills the merchant directly, including subscription and payment commission costs.
* **join platform (ISV):** wallee bills you as the platform; you own the commercial relationship with your merchants.

### How do I earn as a partner?

* **Affiliate:** one-off bounty, revenue share or recurring fee as defined in your contract.
* **ISV:** the margin between your buy rate and your sell rate on every transaction — see Settlement & Payouts.

### Can my merchants keep my branding during onboarding?

With join platform the onboarding is co-branded: your logo, brand name and colours are used and merchants stay within your product context. With join account merchants sign up for their own wallee account through a wallee-hosted flow tagged to you as the referrer.

### Do marketplaces work with wallee join?

Open marketplaces with private, non-registered sellers are currently out of scope: for compliance reasons wallee can only onboard registered legal entities.

### In which countries is wallee join available?

PSP products across Switzerland and the EU; the PayFac sub-account model where wallee is regulated (currently Switzerland and Luxembourg). Coverage expands over time — talk to your partner manager for the latest scope.

### How do I get access to wallee join?

Contact wallee via the [contact form](https://wallee.com/ueber-wallee/kontakt) or your partner manager. After the commercial agreement, your join admin account is set up together with wallee.
